i had a small market garden located on île bizard, about an hour’s drive from mile end/the plateau neighbourhoods of montréal. in the summer of 2015, i grew and sold vegetables to the people of montréal. my little farm was called Fraser’s Field and i had about 20 varieties of fresh vegetables for sale, to individuals and cafés and restaurants.
i sold my ecologically-grown vegetables in front of résonance café on the corner of parc avenue and fairmont ave in mile-end every monday from 3 – 7 pm.
please check out the newsletter archives for information about how this project went, what vegetables i was growing when, and my own personal reflections on being a suburban farmer.
thank you to everyone who supported me and the farm. i will definitely have farm projects again in the future, stay tuned!
